State Inspection

Virginia State Inspections in Virginia Beach, VA

At Kings Grant Exxon, we are proud to be an authorized provider of Virginia state inspections, ensuring that your vehicle meets all safety standards set by the state. Most vehicles registered in the commonwealth are required to undergo annual safety inspections. For incoming new residents, it is important to remember that there is no grace period on safety inspections, so it's recommended that the safety inspection be completed before the vehicle is registered in Virginia (a VA safety inspection can be performed on a vehicle still registered in another state; see our article on state inspections for new residents for additional information).

When it's time for your vehicle's safety inspection, visit Kings Grant Exxon.

We serve Virginia Beach, VA; Norfolk, VA; Portsmouth, VA; and surrounding areas.

Passing & Failing - What You Need to Know

My Vehicle Passed its Yearly Inspection: Upon passing the safety inspection, you'll be issued a new approval sticker.

My Vehicle Failed its Yearly Inspection: If your vehicle fails the safety inspection, you'll receive a rejection sticker valid for 15 days. You have that time to correct the defects and have the vehicle re-inspected. If you return to the original inspection station, the inspector will only need to check the part(s) that caused your vehicle to fail.
