$20. Three licensed inspectors on staff. 300+ inspections every month. After-hours key drop available: drop your vehicle the night before, and we'll have it ready by end of day.
Virginia law requires every registered vehicle to pass an annual state safety inspection. We're an authorized Virginia State Inspection Station, and we perform 300+ inspections every month with three licensed state inspectors on staff.
Here's the important part, and it's worth reading before you come in:
State inspections are first-come, first-served. Inspection stations are not permitted to schedule appointments for state inspections. We have to take vehicles in the order they arrive.
That means you cannot book a state inspection for a specific time, no matter what other websites or apps may tell you. If you try to book a 10 AM Tuesday inspection slot online, through our website or anywhere else, we'll have to let you know that's not how it works in Virginia. We're not being difficult. It's the law.
The good news: we make it as smooth as possible with morning drop-off, an after-hours key drop on Bay 3, and three inspectors working through the queue all day.
Bring it when we open at 7 AM, or use our secure locking key drop box (on the front of the building, attached to Bay 3) after hours. Envelopes are provided for your info and service notes. We'll get to it during the day and call when ready.
If you have to wait while we work, get here at 7 AM. If you arrive at 10 AM and there are already ten vehicles on the board, you could be looking at a three- to four-hour wait.
Stickers expire on the last day of the month shown. The last week of the month and the first week of the next are our busiest, and wait times go up accordingly. Inspect early, avoid delays.
The official safety inspection covers 24 categories of equipment per Virginia State Police regulation (19VAC30-70 Part III, for passenger vehicles up to 10,000 lbs GVWR). If everything checks out, you'll leave with a new approval sticker the same day. If something fails, you'll receive a rejection sticker valid for 15 days, during which you can correct the defect and bring the vehicle back.
That's the state-set fee for a passenger vehicle inspection in Virginia. There are no hidden charges, no shop fees, no add-ons. The price is the price.
If your vehicle fails and you need repair work to pass, we'll give you a written estimate before any work begins. We can fix many failed items, like brake pads, lights and wiper blades, the same day. For larger items, we'll work with you on a timeline that keeps you within the 15-day re-inspection window.
And if you choose to have us do a qualifying repair, it's covered by NAPA's nationwide 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty.
Having three licensed Virginia State Inspectors on staff means we can move through the day's volume faster than shops that rely on a single inspector, and we have backup capacity if one is out.
Three licensed Virginia State Inspectors share inspection duties, so there's backup capacity if one is out.
An ASE Certified Technician on staff, the go-to for complex diagnostic work.
We perform more than 300 Virginia State Inspections every month, first-come, first-served.
There's nothing to book. Virginia State Police rules don't allow appointments for state inspections, so just drop your vehicle off or come in during business hours. The fastest way to reach us is the phone.
